SparkMeter, a portfolio company of Alitheia Capital, has signed two major contracts with Cuivre River Electric Cooperative (CREC), Missouri’s largest electric cooperative, serving 70,000 members and Rochester Public Utilities (RPU), a municipal utility in Minnesota providing power to 60,000 electric and 42,000 water customers. These agreements will see SparkMeter’s AI-powered Praxis platform, GridScan, and GridFin software deployed to enhance grid performance, reduce operational inefficiencies, and optimize financial decision-making.
With SparkMeter’s AI-driven Praxis platform, GridScan, and GridFin software, CREC & RPU can now analyze and improve transformer performance therefore reducing outages & boosting efficiency. It will enhance financial decision-making by optimising rate structures & avoiding unnecessary infrastructure upgrades. Ultimately, CREC and RPU will gain real-time grid insights by streamlining operations and eliminating manual data processing.
These contracts highlight the growing shift toward AI-driven grid management in the U.S and SparkMeter’s solutions are well positioned to address, decarbonization efforts, cost containment and operational efficiency further empowering utilities to make data-driven decisions rather than relying on outdated processes.
