Alma Clinics has launched its 13th clinic, located in the East Rand community in Gauteng, South Africa marking a significant milestone in their mission to expand access to affordable, high-quality healthcare.
Bringing Healthcare Closer to Those Who Need It Most

Alma Clinics is changing this narrative by providing essential medical services that are not only accessible but also designed to meet the unique needs of local populations. Their expansion in East Rand is more than just another clinic opening—it is a major step toward ensuring that quality healthcare is within reach for everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
Alitheia IDF Fund’s Commitment to Gender Lens Investing
Through the Alitheia IDF Fund, Africa’s first and largest gender-lens fund, we have invested in Alma Clinics as, we see the value in Alma Clinics’ nurse-led, tech-enabled model led by Sibongile Manganyi-Rath. This model improves healthcare delivery, empowers female healthcare providers, and bridges critical healthcare gaps.
Our investment in Alma Clinics aligns with our vision of fostering businesses that not only generate financial returns but also create meaningful social change. We achieve this through impact and gender lens investing. Together, we are on a journey to grow to thirty-four (34) clinics and from treating 4000 patients every month to more than 50,000 patients every month. With this expansion roadmap, Alma Clinics is on track to serve over a quarter million patients by 2028, a transformative solution for the communities that need it most.
