Alitheia Capital was proud to participate in the maiden edition of “The Next Big Bet” pitch competition, held as part of the 4th Annual TMT Business Series hosted by Duale, Ovia & Alex-Adedipe (DOA). Themed “Beyond the Startup Frenzy: Building the Infrastructure for a Digital Nigeria,” the event convened key players across Nigeria’s tech and innovation ecosystem to explore what it takes to build a truly inclusive, scalable, and future-ready digital economy.
Our Chief Operating Officer, Yewande Adewusi, joined the panel of judges, lending her expertise to evaluate promising emerging ventures. Alongside leaders from Kaleo Ventures, Cardinal Stone Capital Advisers, and Zrosk Investment Management, Yewande assessed innovative business models that are shaping sectors from fintech and education to circular economy and sustainability.
A highlight of the event was the Startup Pitch Competition, where 11 early-stage companies presented bold, impact-driven solutions. Trashcoin Limited, a blockchain-enabled digital waste management platform, emerged as the winner, securing ₦10 million in legal services. Other notable winners included Kryptr IP Enterprise Ltd and Pay U Technology Ltd, receiving ₦5 million and ₦3 million in support, respectively.
The judges commended all participants for their clarity of vision and commitment to addressing real-world challenges. For Alitheia, this aligns closely with our investment philosophy—supporting businesses that are not only scalable and profitable, but also inclusive and transformative.
Alitheia is driven by the belief that real profit is tied to real purpose. Platforms like this highlight the talent and tenacity of Nigerian entrepreneurs, and Alitheia is committed to being a part of nurturing that ecosystem.
The day also featured keynotes from Dr. Bosun Tijani, Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, who shared updates on Nigeria’s AI strategy, broadband infrastructure, and digital inclusion policies—critical pillars for enabling long-term innovation.
At Alitheia Capital, we remain committed to advancing inclusive economic growth by investing in businesses that shape Africa’s future—from waste management and clean energy to financial inclusion and beyond.
