Wemy Industries Scales Production Capacity by 4x

In January, Wemy Industries bought a new adult diaper production machine at its Nigerian facility. The machine is set to quadruple production capacity by up to four times.

Since Alitheia Capital invested in 2021, the company has grown significantly. Monthly revenue has grown significantly, and the team has expanded from 70 people to over 400, most of which are women. And now production capacity is scaling to meet domestic demand that has long relied on imports.

This expansion has direct economic effects too as more local production means better product availability and lower costs for consumers. It also means shorter supply chains and less exposure to foreign exchange volatility, which makes supply more predictable.

As Nigeria’s primary producer of adult diapers, this expansion would strengthen local manufacturing and directly support import substitution, keeping production, jobs, and value within the country while ensuring essential products remain accessible to those who need them most.
