Alitheia Capital Wins Impact Investor of the Year 2025, Twice in a Row – A Celebration of Purpose, Progress, and Proof.

For the second year in a row, Alitheia Capital Management has been named Impact Investor of the Year 2025 by the Impact Investors Foundation (IIF) — a recognition that not only celebrates our work but reaffirms what we have always believed: that capital, when organised with purpose, can transform societies.
This back-to-back recognition is more than an award. It is an affirmation of a movement that began when Alitheia set out to become Nigeria’s first institutional impact investor, intentionally using finance as a tool for inclusion, equity, and gender balance.
A Legacy of Leadership in Gender-Lens Investing
When we began this journey over a decade ago, gender-lens investing was an unfamiliar term in African finance. Today, it is a globally recognised model for sustainable investing, and we are proud to have been among the first to define and pioneer it in practice.
Through funds like the Alitheia IDF Fund and partnerships such as the uMunthu Fund I & II (managed by Alitheia in collaboration with Goodwell), we have channelled catalytic capital into businesses that do more than generate profit but also expand access, create jobs, and open doors for women across value chains.
These investments have proven that women-led and gender-balanced businesses are not only socially impactful but commercially resilient. For us, impact has gone beyond being just a checkbox, but it is also embedded in our DNA.
The Impact Investors Foundation cited Alitheia’s measurable outcomes, sustained leadership, and pioneering role in shaping Nigeria’s impact investment landscape.
Our portfolio companies have created thousands of jobs, reached over a million lives, and inspired confidence among global investors who now see Africa not merely as a market but as a canvas of opportunity.
Winning Impact Investor of the Year twice in a row, both in 2024 and 2025, is a powerful reflection of that consistency. It shows that long-term impact is not built overnight but through deliberate effort, partnerships, and a shared belief that prosperity can be inclusive.
An Ecosystem Win: OmniRetail Africa Takes Social Enterprise of the Year 2025
This year’s recognition is doubly special. Our portfolio company, OmniRetail Africa Technology Limited, was named Social Enterprise of the Year 2025.
OmniRetail is redefining the informal retail ecosystem across West Africa through its digital supply-chain platform, connecting manufacturers, distributors, and thousands of last-mile retailers. The company’s innovation demonstrates how technology can empower small businesses, improve livelihoods, and make African markets more efficient.
OmniRetail’s growth story, bolstered by investment from Goodwell via Alitheia’s uMunthu Fund is living proof of our thesis: that when you back founders solving Africa’s hardest problems, you don’t just fund a company; you fund possibility.
As we celebrate this milestone, we also look ahead with renewed commitment. The next chapter for Alitheia Capital is about scaling what works, deepening our footprint across Africa, building stronger pipelines for women-led businesses, and nurturing the next generation of African investors who believe that finance can and should serve humanity.
Impact is not a trend. It is our legacy, and every investment we make is a promise to continue building a more inclusive, equitable Africa.
